HC 409 – Cultural Conversant Program and Civic Engagement
HC 409 Cultural Ambassador Conversant Program – Volunteer Path or HC 409 1 Elective Credit Path – Corvallis Campus Only
The INTO OSU Cultural Ambassador Conversant Program [CACP] provides an opportunity for honors students to volunteer with the possibility of earning an HC elective credit. According to INTO OSU, “[CACP] is a great way to internationalize your education at OSU and gain cultural diversity experience here on campus. Cultural Ambassador groups aim to explore our campus and participate in meaningful conversations that help international students practice their English skills and feel a greater sense of connection with the OSU and Corvallis community.”
Anyone is able to volunteer with CACP for free or register for HC 409 for HC credit, which requires logs of meeting dates throughout the term and a reflection paper due at the end.

HC 409 Civic Engagement – All Campuses
The Honors College provides an opportunity for HC students to earn credit while serving and learning in their community. To earn one honors elective credit, commit to volunteering 2-3 hours per week in a local community agency. Visit the course on Canvas to access the materials provided by Community Engagement & Leadership to guide your experience. At the end of the term submit the guided reflection assignment on Canvas due by 5 pm the Monday of finals week.
