LAST CALL! Honors College T-Shirt Design Competition
Are you artistic? Do you want to design a new Honors College t-shirt? HCSA is running a competition to design the new Honors College t-shirt; submit a t-shirt design and it may become the new Honors College t-shirt! The winning design will win a free t-shirt. Shirts will be available for order once a winner has been selected, and ready for collection before the end of the Spring term. All proceeds will go to the Honors College Differential Tuition Scholarship. Submit your design at this link.
Submissions will be accepted from February 10th to March 29th.
Voting for winning design will be from April 6th to April 13th.

NEW! Enroll in HC 408 Thesis Stage 3: Commit – Spring 2020
Having trouble keeping up the momentum with the thesis process? Need to submit your thesis proposal?
Please consider registering for HC 408 Thesis Stage 3: Commit in Spring term. This 1-credit class is designed to support you in turning your research project plan into a concise thesis proposal. Submitting your thesis proposal is a critical step in documenting your area of study and research design.
The Stage 3 class meets in person only twice in the term: Weeks 3 & 7, Thursdays, April 16 and May 14 from 4:00 – 5:50 p.m. this Spring term. This is a fun and productive class to help you keep up the momentum to reach your next step in the thesis process. The CRN to register is 53915.

NEW! Enroll in HC 407 Citizenship* Colloquium – Spring 2020
What does it mean to be an American or an Oregonian?
How do you join a community, and what do you have to do or believe to belong?
In this new, discussion-based course, students will explore the deepening dispute over citizenship, diving into an exciting array of primary sources to probe its legal, legislative, institutional, and historical dimensions. Working with cutting-edge research across disciplines, we will look at the impact of these ideas in every sector of our lives—in the voting booth, in the courtroom, at the border, at the doctor’s office, or the kitchen table.
This course is offered next term, Spring 2020, on Fridays at 12:00 p.m., and is co-taught by Prof. Christopher Nichols & Prof. Danielle Holtz.

Publish Academic and Creative work in Aisthesis!
University of Minnesota Duluth’s Honors Program is currently seeking academic and creative submissions for the 2020 issue of Aisthesis, our undergraduate honors journal. As an interdisciplinary publication, we welcome academic work, including honors capstone projects, literature reviews, and research articles from all fields of research. Creative submissions of nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and visual art (including but not limited to painting, sculpture, short film, multimedia, and photography) are also encouraged. If you are hoping to build your resume, share your work, and publish as an undergraduate, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Honors Student Seeking Adults with Physical Disabilities for Research Study
The Oregon State University Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering is seeking current OSU students who are at least 18 years old and live with a physical disability to participate in a research study. The purpose of this study is to characterize the ethical dilemmas associated with human enhancement technology to mitigate or overcome disability.
Participation in this study involves:
-Meeting with a student researcher for a one-on-one interview of no more than 30 minutes, at a location of your convenience
-$10 cash compensation

Academics for Student Athletes is looking to fill two to three study facilitator positions for Spring term. Study facilitators work with small study groups of student athletes nightly as part of ASA’s study hall program.
Applicants for this position must:
- Be a junior standing
- Hold a 3.0 overall OSU GPA
- Be available Monday – Thursday from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

PSU Summer REU 2020 Program Accepting Applications
Portland State University’s Summer 2020 REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) Program in microscopy and micro-analysis is now accepting applications! Highlights of this program include:
- Learn electron microscopy in state of the art FIB and SEM labs
- Visit local high tech companies
- Network with industry experts
- Opportunities in physics/nanotechnology, chemistry, biology, geology, environmental science, electrical and computer engineering, mechanical and materials engineering
The program will run from June 22 through August 14, 2020, and participants will receive a $4,000 stipend.
The program is open to all undergraduate students who are US citizens or green cardholders. Graduating seniors will only be considered if they have an acceptance in hand for a STEM-field graduate program in Fall 2020. The program emphasizes its interest in receiving applications from minorities, women, veterans of the US Armed forces, and nontraditional students.

The Honors College has launched a “Forgot your lunch?” station for you to have a snack or light lunch if you ever need it. Whether you need food because you forgot your lunch, are low on money, or simply need a snack – please help yourself to this free resource. Need Access to West or Sackett Hall?
All Honors College students can access the West Hall main lounge, and Sackett Hall lounge and conference spaces on the east side of the building. If you live on-campus your OSU student ID has been programmed to allow you access into the Sackett F or E door (those main entrances on the east side of the building near wings F/G and E/H) and the main entrances to West Hall (both the east and west doors). Just place your ID up to the black proxy scanner and the door will unlock. If for some reason your ID is not coded properly request access by completing the survey at https://oregonstate.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bmcLh4dwiae87YN
Access to West and Sackett common spaces is available Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday & Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. These spaces are wonderful if you are looking for a place to meet with your study group, or find a quiet place to spread out. Use the space frequently as access expires if not used within 3 weeks. As a reminder, HC study groups and HC academic advising drop-in hours are also available in these spaces.
