NEW! HCSA Volleyball Tournament
HCSA is hosting a volleyball tournament at the McAlexander Field House on Monday, April 22 at 12 p.m. You do not have to be an honors college student to participate; everyone is encouraged to come! You are required to have five people to register, but it is highly encouraged to have more! There will be three hours of matches and practices, and then the round robin tournament will begin. Make sure to register your team here by Saturday, April 20.
THIS WEEK! HCSA Mocktail Trivia Night
Come join the Honors College Student Association on Wednesday, April 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sackett F/G lounge for a mocktail trivia night! There will be trivia from several different categories, tasty mocktails, and plenty of competition! Teams of 4 will compete, and the winning team will receive a prize, so come prepared to test your knowledge! Make sure to register here.

NEW! Stage 3 Studio Dates
Have a thesis mentor but need an extra nudge completing and submitting your thesis proposal? Befuddled by the thesis proposal, agreement, or timeline? Need some dedicated time to work on you proposal? Drop by for a brief overview of the proposal process, get your questions answered, and take advantage of the time to receive guidance, consult, write, and learn from your peers. Bring your ideas, questions, and, if available, a draft of your proposal (if available). Stop by on Thursday, April 20 in LInC 350 from 2-3:30 p.m.

Looking to learn about research opportunities? Faculty Research Showcases are an excellent way to connect with faculty members, learn more about their research, and potentially get involved in projects that could be the basis of an HC thesis. Even if you don’t yet feel ready to begin research or are not sure about your interests, attending these events help you to explore opportunities and make connections.

OSU Advantage Accelerator HC Internship Opportunity
The OSU Advantage Accelerator team is looking for several HC interns for the 23-24 academic year as well as over the summer. Come learn more on Tuesday April 18 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in LInC 345 and enjoy FREE PIZZA! This program is focused on high-growth, traded sector startup, and early-stage organizations. Interns assist in the development of new businesses through market research, competitive analysis, due diligence, and more. There are also positions for which interns contribute to intellectual property and patent evaluation, marketing of OSU technologies to potential licensees, and other aspects of invention analysis. Scholarship & Financial Aid Opportunities
NEW! Roundhouse Foundation Marine Studies Program Innovation Lab Scholarship and Internship Fund
The Roundhouse Foundation Marine Studies Innovation Lab Scholarship supports Oregon State University undergraduate students in their second year or more of study who are participating in a paid internship with the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) Innovation Lab (iLab) in Newport, Oregon. There are up to three awards of $18,640 given to scholars who qualify. Students must submit their application through OSU ScholarDollars. The deadline to apply is Monday, May 1. HC Differential Scholarship Application Open
The Honors College Differential Tuition Scholarship is designed to make sure that students who are fully engaged with their HC education are not forced to withdraw due to the cost of enrollment in the college. Differential Tuition Scholarships are for $750-$1,500 for one academic year. All students with financial need should apply to the Differential Tuition Scholarship through ScholarDollars. MSI Student Awards 2023
The Marine Studies Initiative would like to recognize and reward OSU undergraduates who demonstrate outstanding scholarship and pursuits consistent with the vision and mission of MSI. Awards (up to $500) can cover expenses such as travel costs, books, supplies, and memberships to online academic software and field housing such as summer course housing at Hatfield Marine Science Center.More information can be found here. SNAP Outreach at the BNC
Students may be eligible for $234 a month in grocery funds! SNAP is a federal nutrition benefits program and the Basic Needs Center Center at Oregon State assists with applications! For more information visit the SNAP link here.
HC Differential Tuition Emergency Grant
The Honors College encourages students experiencing unusual financial challenges to apply for a one-term Honors College Differential Tuition and Emergency Grant of $500. This is not a scholarship and is designed to provide short-term, immediate support. Contact bailey.garvin@oregonstate.edu or an Honors College advisor with questions.
HC Experiential Award Application
Honors students who have submitted a thesis proposal are eligible to apply for an Honors Experiential Scholarship of up to $750 in support of participation at a professional conference or engagement in thesis research. Contact Kevin Stoller at kevin.stoller@oregonstate.edu with questions.

NEW & THIS WEEK! University of Central Florida CECS Graduate Programs Open House
The University of Central Florida invites you to their CECS Virtual Graduate Programs Open House: On-Demand Experience. This is a new forum for students to learn about each of CECS’s graduate-level programs at their own convenience. After registering here, prospective students will receive a link to a series of short video presentations tailored to their specific interests. Presentations will include overviews of the College of Engineering and Computer Science, representative research talks by faculty in the participants’ field of interest, detailed explanations of the application process opportunities, and more. The deadline to register is Wednesday, April 12.

The Office of Advocacy is currently looking for passionate interns to join our team next fall. As a paid intern, you would run the day-to-day tasks of the office, such as answering the phone/email, greeting students when they come in, making appointments, maintaining files, and other clerical tasks. After a year as an intern, student employees can train and serve as Peer Advocates, who work directly with their fellow students providing them with support and resources. UPCOMING DEADLINE! College of Agricultural Sciences Continuing Researcher Support Program
The College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) is currently accepting proposals for the Continuing Researcher Support Program. This program provides up to $1700 to undergraduate students from any major and college who are seeking support to conduct a semi-independent research project with a CAS faculty member. Projects can be conducted in summer term, academic year (fall, winter, spring), or full year. You can find more information on this program here. Submit the research proposal by Friday, April 14. Proposals should include evidence of strong faculty/student collaboration, previous student research experience, and a research topic in line with the ongoing research of the faculty. Become an Academics for Student Athletes Tutor
Academics for Student Athletes has some openings for tutors this upcoming term. These are paid on-campus positions that offer flexible schedules. Tutor applicants must be Sophomore standing and hold an overall GPA of 3.0 or above. Most tutoring will be performed in-person during Spring term, but hybrid options are available. OASE Internship Opportunities
Oregon-based 3rd and 4th year undergraduates, and graduate students, are welcome to apply for OASE internships. The Summer 2023 Oregon Applied Sustainability Experience (OASE) applications and list of participating businesses are live, see below! During this 10-week internship, college students are matched with an Oregon business to create sustainability solutions for industry practices. Interns help businesses improve efficiency, save money, and reduce waste through projects based on preventing pollution. Application information can be found here. Student Research Assistant and Student Programer Job Opportunities
The student research assistant’s primary duties consist of conducting literary research, synthisizing literature, creating annotated bibliographies, preparing manuscripts, and attending weekly meetings. Knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics is preferred. The student programer will program an app prototype for easy integration into Canvas, help create instructional videos, and provide research support. Skills preferred are knowledge of HTML/CSS, Java, JavaScript, and python. Both jobs are an avarege of 20 hours a week for the 23-24 academic year. This is a paid opportunity for undergraduates to conduct research. This program should provide rigorous and engaged training for undergraduates in Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Bioengineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Computational Neuroscience, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Neuroscience, Material Science, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, and Systems Engineering. Soundbox Six Open Call for Submissions
Soundbox Six invites you to submit intermedia, sound, text, music, radio art, video art, performance-art, social media art, digital installations to the festival’s 2023 open call. Submissions are open to OSU Students, Faculty, Alumni, and the General Public. Please submit a link to your work and fill out the submission form by midnight on Sunday, April 30. Digital and performance works should be no longer than 10 minutes, and you must provide an unlisted YouTube link that gives us permission to view and download the work. NEW! Holocaust Memorial Week
From Monday, April 17 until Friday, April 21 OSU will observe their 36th annual Holocaust Memorial Week. The week highlights seven events and concludes with a talk by an Auschwitz survivor that will take place on Tuesday, May 9. All events can be accessed online here, but can also be attended in person. THIS WEEK! Examining Power Tools: Building Conversations, Connection, and Community
Spend Saturday, April 15 at the Corvallis Museum making new friends, playing games, and being in meaningful conversations deconstructing communication, power, and dominance with other Oregon State students. This event is taking place from 9-9:30 p.m. and is meant for white-identified students* who are interested in having fun while learning communication skills that are essential to building the inclusive community we all want to see in the future. *Anyone is welcome to this Saturday event AND the organizers think this is most resourcing for white-identified students who want more skills connected to inclusivity, belonging, relationships, and communicating skillfully across difference. Anytime Anywhere: MySSP @ OSU App
Anytime Anywhere: MySSP @ OSU is an app that gives all OSU students, including Ecampus students, 24/7 access by text or phone with a licensed mental health counselor (MySSP stands for “My Student Support Program”). The app makes it easy to schedule short-term counseling appointments with the same ongoing counselor and provides educational materials covering mental health topics. Students can communicate with a counselor in five different languages (Mandarin, Cantonese, French, Spanish or English); additional language options are available upon request. The Honors College main office in LInC 450 is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. HC staff is on hand during business hours to assist with questions, help with scheduling appointments or just chat and share some free candy. “Forgot Your Lunch?” Station Available in SLUG
The Honors College is back with a “Forgot Your Lunch?” station for you to have a snack or light lunch if you ever need it. Whether you need food because you forgot your lunch, are low on money or simply need a snack, please help yourself to this free resource. The resource is self-serve and can be accessed any time that the SLUG is open in the kitchen area.
