Curry Educational Greenhouse and Garden (CEGG) Open Garden Hours

Every Monday in July and August 3rd, 10th, 17th, 1:00pm – 3:00pm

The green house garden is open to the public to visit and participate in light gardening chores. Volunteers are welcome to help spruce up the greenhouse and work with our guests.

Joy of Gardening OMGA 2026 Event

2026 Oregon Master Gardener Association Joy of Gardening Conference

July 10th and 11th 

Have you registered yet for the OMGA Joy of Gardening Conference? Time is running out! Registration closes July 6th. Dorm registrations closed June 29th.

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Master Gardener Program with this 2-day educational event held at the OSU Alumni Center in Corvallis.

There are two fantastic keynotes: Dr. Leslie Madsen and Andrew Millison. Over 30 instructors are scheduled to speak on a variety of topics ranging from planting in a changing climate and becoming a certified bee steward, to the latest in home garden science and growing a cut flower garden. There is something for everyone.

Master Gardeners can earn recertification credits for all classes.

Party in the Park

Saturday July 11th, 11:00am – 4:00pm

CCMGA will partner with Curry Watersheds Partnership to host a youth challenge booth at Party in the Park, Buffington Park, Gold Beach. Our activity is a pollinator obstacle course. Volunteers can help for a few hours (noon to 3:00 is busiest) on July 11, and/or with pre-event planning.

Curry County Fair!

July 25th, 26th, 27th 28th, Shift 1: 12 pm – 3 pm: Shift 2: 3 pm – 6 pm

Master Gardeners will provide an informational booth where fair patrons can learn more about the Master Gardener program and ask gardening questions. We will also have some fun activities for kids and adults.

Each day will have two 3-hour shifts. Please let Paul Maree know which shift you would like to be part of. It would be great if we could get at least 2 people to cover each shift.

Kids Nature Journaling Offered by the Brookings-Harbor Garden Club

Friday July 10th, 1:30pm – 3:00pm

CCMGA volunteer Patty McCatthy is leading a hands-on workshop for children that introduces them to the basics of nature journaling. Journals and Pencils will be provided but bring a blanket or a chair.

This workshop is at the Botanical Garden, N. Bank Chetco Road, Brookings and is offered through the Chetco Community Public Library and the Bookings-Harbor Garden Club.

A Garden Talk Double Feature with the Brookings-Harbor Garden Club

Monday August 10th, 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Up and coming offerings by CCMGA volunteers Robin Rasch and Jerry Herbage. These workshops are at Chetco Community Public Library and are offered through the Bookings-Harbor Garden Club. Time for audience Q&A will follow each presentation.

1:00pm: Cultivating resilience for ecological distress: Building resilience through gardening, with Robin Rasch. Robin took the OSU Extension training on giving presentations regarding Cultivation Resilience through Ecological Distress.

1:30pm: A deep dive on dahlias, with Jerry Herbage

The Oregon State University Extension Master Gardener Level Up webinar series is back for2026. These free classes, open to everyone, are designed to inspire gardeners, volunteers and plant lovers. This series begins with,

Recordings for these events are available 1-2 weeks after the live event. OSU Extension Master Gardener volunteers can receive 1 hour of Continuing Education Credit for each class.
