Pre-Therapy and Allied Health (PTAH) Interest Meeting
Are you a KIN major? Are you interested in learning more about pre-therapy and allied health (PTAH) career pathways (e.g., PT, AT, OT, Nursing, PA, Pre-Med) regardless of your major? If you answered Yes! to either of these questions, please join us for our PTAH Option Interest Meeting on Monday, April 28 from 6:30-7:30 PM in Langton 129! Our stellar KIN faculty will be available to discuss what the PTAH option entails, chat informally, and take your excellent questions. For those unable to attend in person, please contact Dr. Cathy Crowell for a Zoom link.

KIN 343 & KIN 344 App Deadline Reminder for PTAH Students
If you’re a KIN student already undertaking the PTAH option (i.e., officially coded as PTAH in MyDegrees) and plan on taking KIN 343 (the 1-credit experiential learning seminar) and KIN 344 (the 1-credit experiential learning practicum) in Fall 2025, be sure to submit your apps for each of these courses no later than Friday, May 2 at 5 PM. HDFS Club Offering Cocoa and Crafts to De-stress from Midterms
True to form, our wonderful HDFS friends are showing they care about you! If midterms have got you uptight, join the HDFS Club on Thursday, May 1 at 6 PM in Waldo 400 for some cocoa, crafting, and community.

HDFS Nibble and Network Career Event
Networking, snacks, and swag, oh my! COH students, come hear from recent Human Development and Family Sciences (HDFS) alumni who represent a wide array of careers with their HDFS degrees. They’ll give two-minute lightning talks sharing insights on their career paths to help you navigate your own career journey. Afterwards, meet with alumni to chat and connect. You’ll also have the unique opportunity to meet with the COH career advisor, the school head for HDFS, an academic advisor, HDFS faculty, and HDFS Club members – all at one event on Monday, May 5 from 4-5:30 PM in MU 109! Register via the QR code below. Ecampus students and Cascades students are also invited to register; there’ll be a livestream option for the presentations and lightning talks!

DPD App Deadline Reminder for NUTR Pre-Dietetics Students
If you’re a NUTR Pre-Dietetics student finishing their second year intending to begin the Dietetics cohort in Fall 2025, you’ll need to apply to the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) no later than Monday, May 5 at 5 PM. Feel free to review the key points and criteria of the DPD, and reach out to Michelle Bump with any questions.
Grad School Exploration Fair
Whether you’re set on graduate school or even remotely considering it, we invite you to the Grad School Exploration Fair on Wednesday, April 30 from 11 AM-2 PM in the MU Horizon Room (register via the link). At this event, you’ll have the chance to network with reps from 20 graduate programs! Pro tip: click on the “Employers” link within the link above to see the schools, and come prepared with program-specific questions.
Government Careers beyond Federal Employment Workshop
Did you know that a recent job poll from Handshake showed that state, county, and city government added the highest number of jobs nationally? If you’re thinking of a career in government but struggling to find federal positions, this workshop is for you! Register here to join us Thursday, May 1 from 5-6 PM via Zoom to learn how to pivot your job search efforts from federal government employment to comparable state and local government opportunities (as well as private employers.) We’ll also offer strategies, mindsets, and tools to help you find and pursue these alternative opportunities, and we’ll share approaches to maintain resiliency during the job search, prioritizing your self-care and goals.
Join the Job Shadow Program
From now through Saturday, May 3, you’re invited to sign up for OSU’s 2025 Job Shadow Program facilitated by the Career Development Center! Job shadowing is an excellent, low-stakes way to gain experience outside of the classroom, clarify occupations of interest, and possibly even earn credit. Through this program, you can be matched with a local organization that coincides with your career goals. Register below, and contact Wendy Allison with any questions.
