Job Descriptions

One job and only one job I attend is an internship on last summer break, I was working for a financial company to do market research. My elder sister give me this chance, and my mentor help me a lot during the internship.

When I first review the job description, it said the main work is to research the market, learn the successful experience of competitors and find potential customers, also prepare a weekly report with both paper and Powerpoint. It seems like an easy job as it description but I soon realize it is not easy. First, I need to dig out why our competitors can be a success in their field, what are strategies they used to reach their goal, and what they do to keep their business going. Second, I need to summarize these strategies in my own words, it is a big challenge for me as a non-native speaker. When I first saw the job description, I just want drop this job as soon as possible, because I don’t think my knowledge is qualified for this job, I feel I have less experience about doing market research. However, after taking a moment to think, I decide o take this job because it is a rare chance for me, internship is hard to find in today, and this internship is close to my major, so I accept their offer.

Due to job description, I think I have few similar and different with this job. I am good at research and collecting data, make them into a PowerPoint, and I am good at writing summarize, I think this is similar or closest link I with this job. Different between me and this job could be this job require some market research skills, but major is about management, maybe some part is not suit to deep diving research, but I don’t think it require too many deep research and analyze. After all, this is a great internship and I am enjoy it a lot, it give me a sight about how really workplace looks like.
