(1) In the study entitled “Helicobacter pylori infection: old and new”(2017), S Diaconu, A Predescu, A Moldoveanu, CS Pop and C Fierbinteanu-Braticevici from the Department of Internal Medicine II and Gastroenterology at the University Emergency Medicine Hospital in Bucharest Romania assert that Helicobacter pylori is inversely associated with eosinophillic esophagitis. (2) They provide evidence for this claim by using diagnostic tests such as blood tests, urea breath tests, endoscopy and stool samples in 58 patients with eosinophillic esophagitis and 116 age and sex-matched controls. (3) The purpose of this article is to inform about H. pylori and diagnostic techniques as well as confirm their theory that H. pylori is indeed inversely related to eosinophillic esophagitis so that we can expand our knowledge on the disease. (4) The authors establish a scientific relationship with microbiological research and other researchers in the digestive world.
