Hello! Thinking of the idea of non-infectious diseases caused by microorganisms, I honestly don’t feel very confident listing any but because this is a blog and I’m not speaking in front of a class, I feel better about giving it a go! Starting where I feel more comfortable is infectious diseases to get my brain going. Some that pop to mind that I might think could be modulated by microbes are things like Malaria, Chicken pox and the common cold. I believe these are all caused by different microbes but I’m not sure which exactly. Moving on to the important question here, when I think of non-infectious diseases I think of potentially diseases such as Alzheimer’s, diabetes or osteoporosis. Focusing more on non-infectious diseases influenced by microorganisms, I think of diseases potentially including asthma or maybe certain types of cancer. It’s interesting now that I’m being asked specifically about non infectious diseases I feel lost trying to think of some. I think once we begin learning other diseases, it will ring a bell in my head (hopefully). I know I have so much to learn and I’m excited to get started!
