Dr. Adriane Irwin wins AACP New Investigator Award

Dr. Irwin was selected for her work, “Exploring Patient Perceptions of Pain Contracts and the Role of the Pharmacist.”

Dr. Adirane Irwin, Assistant Professor at OSU College of Pharmacy has been awarded the 2017 AACP New Investigator Award provided by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. This program provides start up funding for independent research programs of early-career pharmacy faculty. Dr. Irwin’s research is exploring patient perceptions of pain contracts and the role of the pharmacist in preventing abuse of pain medications. She is also examining the effectiveness of Controlled Substance Agreements in preventing abuse of pain medications by patients.
