George Wilson of Tillamook Pharmacy for SmokeFree Oregon

Fifty years ago, George Wilson, long time friend of the college and father of Alum, David Wilson (’95), decided that his pharmacy would no longer sell tobacco products to customers. Promoting smoking or chewing would be contradictory to the healthy living and longevity standard the Tillamook Pharmacy strives to encourage for those who come through their doors.

Recently, SmokeFree Oregon did and “Oregon Heroes” video series to showcase people who have been taking the steps to create a healthier environment for Oregonians. George Wilson of Tillamook Pharmacy was one of the participants of the web series and stated in his video, “It came to me that I couldn’t sell medicine and try and help people if I was selling tobacco. It is just a moral dilemma for me.”
