Dr. Robert Beardsley (’72) to be honored with Noel Flynn Alumni Achievement Award

Robert S. Beardsley, RPh, PhD is Professor and Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in Baltimore. He earned his pharmacy degree from Oregon State University and a PhD in Pharmacy Administration from the University of Minnesota. He joined the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in 1977 as an assistant professor and became a professor in 1994. He served as Associate Dean for Student Affairs for 16 years.  In 2011, Dr. Beardsley received the prestigious Robert K. Chalmers Distinguished Pharmacy Educator Award for national impact on the pharmacy profession from the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). He has served as chair of the Council of Deans for AACP and on AACP’s Board of Directors. Most recently, Dr. Beardsley was elected as President of ACPE for 2012-13.

Dr. Beardsley will be presented with the Noel Flynn Alumni Achievement Award during the College of Pharmacy Graduation Ceremony on June 15, 2011.
