Pharmacy Students Provide Health Fair at OSU Day at the Capitol

The College of Pharmacy was one of the central highlights of OSU Legislative Day at the Oregon Capitol on April 12th. Students in their white lab coats emblazoned with OSU College of Pharmacy made personal visits to their legislators to discuss the importance of higher education at OSU and the important role that pharmacists play in today’s health care environment and the growing medical home model.

The college hosted a health fair including screenings for blood pressure and blood glucose, information on proper antibiotic use and general medication use information. Faculty Drs. Ramirez and Linnares, and alumnae guest Penny Reher, served as preceptors for the more than 50 student volunteers who attended throughout the day.

Later that evening, President Ray delivered an address at a reception with students, faculty and deans present.
