The AAPG Foundation’s United States Military Veterans Scholarship Program (MVSP) is designed to support veterans pursuing an undergraduate geoscience education.

Application open now through 15 May. Scholarships range from $2,000-$4,000 and may be used for tuition and living expenses.

Who Can Apply? Active U.S. military service members (including National Guard and Reserve) or veteran members separated from active military service who have been discharged and are entering or re-entering an undergraduate program in a field of geoscience, full-time or part-time, at a four-year accredited college or university.

Academic Coach: Position Announcement

The Academic Success Center is seeking undergraduate and graduate students to apply for multiple Academic Coaches positions for the 2015-2016 academic year. This student employee position provides unique training and skill development in the area of one-on-one student coaching beginning in Spring 2015 with intensive academic coaching training. Academic Coaches work with students who wish to work on issues affecting their academic success, provide presentations for classes and campus organizations, organize student outreach and engagement, and assist the Academic Success Center with special projects.

 

About the Academic Success Center:

The Academic Success Center (ASC) supports and enhances OSU’s learning environment to promote student persistence and success by offering innovative and dynamic programs to support the needs of students in higher education.

 

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Interest in working one-on-one with other students
  • Good time management and organizational skills

 

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum two terms at OSU
  • GPA of at least 3.00

Find the mobile VetCenter bus in the parking lot between Kelly Engineering and Monroe Avenue

Will be available from 9-2

 

The VetCenter provides confidential counseling to veterans. It is a division of VA health services, but records from the VetCenter are not shared with the VA or anyone else, unless you specifically request it. VA enrollment forms will be available, but the VetCenter does not specialize in enrollment. Bring any paperwork with you if you would like to make/work on a claim. No paperwork is necessary if you would just like to talk.
