Self Progression

Life Stress Inventory

I scored a 231 on the life stress surver which is telling me i have a 50% chance of a mental stress breakdown within the next two years. Some of the major reasons that i have accrued this score is because of my major life changes. I’m finishing up school, just started a new job and acquired a substantial loan amount due to purchasing anew place to live. all of these things make life more stressful but i don’t feel like I’m going to have a mental breakdown anytime soon. My life has been going just as i have planned it would be going and i am very grateful. even though this comes with a large amount of stress, life wouldn’t be challenging without these aspects in your life.

Coping and Stress Management Skills Test

My Problem focused coping score was a 73, this saying that i am more willing to take things into my own hands and problem solve myself along with seeing the help of others when i truly need it. this gives me a good idea of where i am when it comes to coping with my problems as it seems it would be more beneficial in the future to see more help and advice form others.

Type A personality Test

After taking hte Type A personality test i scores a 30 on the Impatience/ irritablilty graph saying that i am a very understanding person but when overstressed or irritated i will lash out and confront people but this is rare. since i trust others i am willing to open up to others and understand their issues aswell. I believe that this score is accurate to my personality as i do have somewhat of a temper, but it is hard to trigger these emotions from me, as i am very willing to help others and do whatever it takes to appease those around me, steering clear of conflict and trying to resolve these issues myself.

My Career

I believe I am at a good state in my life and am willing to cope with stress well. as time goes on and life gets more stressfll i am willing to adjust my living to accomidate for the new situations at hand.

How other organizations deal with stress

comparing stress management strategies with different organizations i know multiple universities such as UW and WSU that manage their students stress by bringing in dogs and puppies during finals week to their libraries to help calm the students and relax them a little bit. studies have shown that dogs are a great way to reduce stress and i too find myself spending a-lot more time with my dog when i am in a stress-full situation.
