IPIP Results & Reactions

Today I took the IPIP-NEO test that took me around ten minutes to complete. Below are my results for each of the characteristic’s.

My score on Extraversion is average, indicating I am neither a subdued loner nor a jovial chatterbox. I enjoy time with others but also time alone

My level of Agreeableness is average, indicating some concern with others’ Needs, but, generally, unwillingness to sacrifice yourself for others.

My score on Conscientiousness is high. This means I set clear goals and pursue them with determination. People regard me as reliable and hard-working

My score on Neuroticism is low, indicating that I am exceptionally calm, composed and unflappable. I do not react with intense emotions, even to situations that most people would describe as stressful.

My score on Openness to Experience is low, indicating I like to think in plain and simple terms. Others describe me as down-to-earth, practical, and conservative.

If a potential employer were to look at my results, I could find a couple of different strengths and weaknesses they could pull from. Some strengths they could find is that I can be sociable at the appropriate times and can also be left alone and get my work done. In addition, I would be seen as reliable and hard-working, which is a huge skill for any employee to have. Lastly, I have a calm presence and react calmly in stressful situations and know how to take care of business.

In contrast, I also have a few different weaknesses as well. Some characteristics an employer could see as weaknesses is my unwillingness to sacrifice myself for others. I am always willing to help out my team, however not if it is something good for the company. In addition, I am not super open to new experiences, which could be a weakness for a company that is wanted to rebrand or looking for someone to change the company.

Overall, I think the test results were fairly accurate, and I think that my personality would work for a lot of different companies as an employee.
