IPIP Results & Reactions

The results of the IPIP-NEO Test shows what your personality traits are with the traits of extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism and openness to experience. In extraversion I score low on this. My score shows that I am introverted, reserved and quiet. I enjoy solitude and solitary activities. My socializing tends to be restricted to a few close friends. In agreeableness I score high in this trait. I have a strong interest in others’ needs and well-being. I am pleasant, sympathetic and cooperative. In conscientiousness I score in an average range. I am reasonably reliable, organized and self-controlled. In neuroticism I score high. This indicated I get easily upset, even by normal demands of living. I am considered sensitive and emotional. Lastly, I score low on openness to experience. I like to think in plain and simple terms. I can be described by others as down-to-earth, practical and conservative.

An employer may see these results and determine what my strengths or weaknesses are. In terms of not being an extrovert this can be seen as a weakness because I keep to myself. Enjoying solitude and not socializing are not always the best. In terms of strengths though, this can be good because I will not be easily distracted by other employees and will get my work done. Having high agreeableness is a good strength because I am interested in others and I am cooperative with others. A weakness for this though is it could be seen that I am a “yes man” and will agree to anything. Since the conscientiousness is in an average range, there are no best strengths or weaknesses that are going along with this. Since I score high in neuroticism it is a weakness that I get upset easily. Lastly, not being super open to experiences can be a downside, but being down-to-earth is a big plus.
