Plan for a PIN

Starting Spring term 2017, all students must have an approved Fall 2017 term course plan on file in MyDegrees in order to receive a PIN to register for FALL 2017 classes. First-year students will receive their Winter and Spring term PINs at First-Year Workshops or during individual advising appointments.

You can call 541-737-8900 to schedule an appointment to meet with your advisor, or you can submit this plan electronically.

Beginning March 13th, CPHHS will be moving to Online Appointment Scheduling. Students will be able to schedule their own appointments with their assigned CPHHS academic advisor. More information is forthcoming.

OSS “Who’s My Academic Advisor?” Drawing Contest: Round Two

This week, the Office of Student Success is holding a NEW drawing contest! The prizes are CPHHS-themed canvas bags, fleece vests, 16-GB flash drives, water bottles and four grand prizes! The grand prizes are $25 gift cards for Amazon.com. To enter, submit your name, the name of your assigned CPHHS academic advisor, and your phone number. Deliver it in person to Women’s Building 105 or email it to phhs.peer@oregonstate.edu. The deadline is Friday, Mar. 17, at 5pm; winners will be contacted on Mar. 20.

Research Opportunity:

The Research Office is accepting applications for the Undergraduate Research, Innovation, Scholarship and Creativity (URISC) Program for Summer 2017 and Fall, Winter and/or Spring term(s) 2017-18. This program supports undergraduate research activities from all academic disciplines within the university. Program description and application. Deadline for application: Monday, April 10, at 5 pm.

Career Development Focus Group:

The new Executive Director for the Career Development Center, Brandi Fuhrman, has asked to meet with a diverse group of 6-10 CPHHS students to discuss their thoughts and needs around career development topics. The focus group will be held Friday Mar. 17, from 2-3pm, in Women’s Building 210. Students of all class standing (freshman to PhD) are welcome! Ecampus students using WebEx can also participate. Volunteer Opportunity:

The Corvallis Parks & Recreation Department is in urgent need of coaches for the girl’s youth lacrosse program.  This is an exciting and very rewarding way to share your knowledge of the game of lacrosse with the next generation of players.  If you have the time and the knowledge, the Parks & Recreation Department can teach you to be a great coach. Research Opportunities:

  • The laboratory of Systems BioMedicine at the College of Pharmacy under the direction of Dr. Andrey Morgun  is seeking several students to be members of a research team. The aim of our laboratory is to gain a better understanding of the pathogenesis of different diseases such as cancer, diabetes and immunodeficiency. The positions will include computational analysis on next generation sequencing data and network biology. Previous basic computer skills are required. Preference will be given to students proficient in one of the following: R, MySQL, MatLab, Python, C++/C, Java or Perl. Students are expected to work 1015 hours per week.   • The Kindergarten Readiness Research Program is looking for undergraduate research assistants. If you enjoy working with children and are interested in gaining valuable research experience, please consider this opportunity. You will work closely with a team of undergraduate and graduate research assistants on several school readiness research projects (led by Dr. Megan McClelland). This is an unpaid opportunity; however, students may sign up for research credits. Position requirements are outlined below:
    • Be available 6 to 9 hours per week (from 8:00 to 12:00 or 12:00 to 4:00)
    • Speak Spanish (preferred but not required)
    • Have experience working with young children, ages 3 to 6
    • Be interested in gaining valuable research experience
