I believe I had read these pitfalls before. I definitely don’t want to be the “sage on the stage” but admit that posting my powerpoints online has been the easy way out.
For my Class DHE 475 Global Trade, I definitely want the students to be the ones teaching. Even now I encourage students to bring their computers to class and look up things as I lecture. Trade policies are constantly changing so I hope to build a course which I can give students a format as to what they need to find and then let them go–I want them to the expert. I am also a firm believer in teamwork and the students teaching each other. I normally have students answer questions in class for it lets me know what they are hearing/picking up on and if they are getting the concepts.
