HR Management Week 6

Throughout my career of working in many different positions I have found some very effective ways that help me with trying and others that didn’t help me as much. Form me personally I have always been able to gain better training when the training is hands on and not one where you sit at a computer the whole time and then just get thrown out there to do the job. In my current job the training consisted of sitting at a computer and learning the basics of the position and then they would have you role play with a manager to make sure that I was actually attaining the knowledge needed and then they would critique what I was doing. This was very beneficial for me because I was able to learn what I was doing wrong as well as learn what I was doing good at.

Ultimately I have worked in other positions where they just sat you down at a computer and then when you finished the training they would put you out there and expect you to know everything about the job. So, when I would first go out there and try to perform I would be so lost because I didn’t really gain the knowledge that I needed in order to ensure that I was doing the job properly. After I asked some co workers what I should be doing I was able to figure out and that is why I feel like I learn a lot better when it’s a hands on trying compared to one where you sit at a computer.

Ultimately I feel like everyone has a different type of training that may work better for them and that’s why it is important that you make sure you have different trainings available for everyone. It is definitely hard to balance this because its hard to implement new trainings but you can try to combine a couple different training in order to make sure that everyone feels like they are actually gaining the knowledge that they need.
