#FSHAOMO Entries!

November 4th, 2015

We are wrapping up #FSHAOMO for this year and need your help voting on a winner! Please go to our quick survey to choose your favorite Moustache Selfie by December 4th.

We currently have $53.60 to donate to the Children’s Cancer Association; you’ve got three more days to donate! You can put it in the donation jar outside of the Summer Session offices, or you can bring your donation directly to Erica.

Don’t forget to take your moustache selfie and donate to the Children’s Cancer Association! (You’re more than welcome to donate without a selfie.)

Even some of the directors are rocking the moustaches!

FHSAO is asking our amazing team at Extended Campus to take pictures with our Moustache Photo Booth (hanging just outside of the Summer Session offices) and then send the picture to Erica. The best moustache selfie wins the big prize: all of the proceeds to the Children’s Cancer Association will be donated in your name, or the name of your choice! To raise the money for the Children’s Cancer Association, we ask that you put the amount of money you’d like to give in the attached donation jar with each selfie you take. (You are also welcome to give donations to Elizabeth Thomas.)

Thanks to all who participated in the Bike Commute Challenge!

November 2nd, 2015

We’d love to give a huge thank you to all who participated in the Bike Commute Challenge this year! It was a wonderful September for riding your bike.

23 Ecampus & Friends Team riders covered 1,387 miles–the distance between Corvallis and Tucson! That’s crazy!

Don’t feel bad if you missed out! We’ll be competing again next September, if you’d like to join. Keep an eye out for emails from Cub Kahn regarding the challenge.

Charity idea: Children’s Miracle Network, Eugene Family Guest House

October 23rd, 2015

Warren would like to rant about a charity here:
If you’ve ever thought “Gee, I’d like to donate 5 bucks or more to a charity. but which one really matters to someone I work with?” – I’ve got a suggestion!

Go to this link: https://11354.thankyou4caring.org/SHMC_Main_Donate and select the Designation: “Patient Family Guest House.” Maybe put in a comment like “This is for someone who really appreciated the CMN/Lions Family Guest House while their kid was in the NICU at Sacred Heart in Eugene.”

Indie Game Con

October 2nd, 2015

Today and tomorrow, in Eugene, the Indie Game Con is taking place. Warren plans to head down tomorrow with his son, and check out the local made games for at least a couple hours.
Kids under 8 are free. Normal tickets are $10. Full Access tickets (developer talks) are $27.
Several other game devs from Albany and Corvallis are going. If you end up heading down, leave a comment and we’ll be sure to say hi.

Join the Bike Commute Challenge!

August 19th, 2015

For the 5th consecutive year we’ll have an OSU Ecampus and Friends team in the Bike Commute Challenge in September. The BCC is a very friendly competition among workplaces in Oregon/SW Washington each September that promotes wellness, sustainability, bike safety, and community. We welcome everyone who wants to bike to work at least once or twice, or as much as every day, in September. Sign up at Bike Commute Challenge to join us. When you register, please choose the OSU Ecampus and Friends team so that your rides will count toward the team total. All team members will be invited to an after-work gathering during September. For more information, contact Cub.

You’ll be on the team with a few of your fellow F’SH@O members!

Game Playtest event in Eugene (tonight!)

August 12th, 2015

Eugene has a pretty healthy indie games development scene. Tonight they’re offering a playtest event (where you can try out games that are still in development and offer feedback). Folks from Portland are coming down for it, so I guess some of us in Corvallis might be interested.
