Fall Term Rootstock Hours

Fall Term Rootstock Hours have been updated! The pantry will be stocked and staffed at these times, beginning Monday, September 28, 2026 –
Undergraduate Hours – Monday: 10:00am – 1:00pm and Wednesdays from 11:00am – 1:00pm.
Graduate Pantry Days & Hours – October 5th, November 23rd, and December 7th from 11:00am-1:00pm.

For additional support with food insecurity, textbook rental and housing emergencies, please visit the Basic Needs Center.

The College of Forestry Clothing Library is located in Richardson Hall 152. It is stocked with free clothing for students who are in need of outdoor gear for field work or professional attire for interviews.

NEW Free Bus Service 🚌

The 99 Vine is a grant-funded pilot transit service between Eugene and McMinnville with stops at the OSU Corvallis campus and the Eugene Airport! The service makes four daily runs Monday through Friday. The OSU stop is located at the northeast corner of 15th Street and Jefferson Way. Visit Pacific Crest Bus Lines’ website to view stops and schedules.

We’re seeking apple donations for the Biodeterioration Lab’s annual cider pressing at the CoF Fall Return Festival on October 1. If you have an apple tree (or trees) producing more fruit than you can use and would be willing to contribute, please email Rona Bryan by Thursday, September 24th for details and coordination!

Podcast Production Student Assistant Position

The Forestry & Natural Resources Extension Podcast Team is hiring a part-time production assistant for their podcast, In the Woods. Some of the position duties include audio recording and editing; posting podcasts to various RSS feeds and YouTube; editing closed cations; creating simple graphics for social media; OSU Extension and blog website editing. This is a remote work position that can begin as early as October 1, 2026. Work about 5 hours per week, up to 20 hours per month. CEL is excited to announce 3 cohorts for Beavs Serve in Fall term!

Beavs Serve is a cohort-based, service learning and leadership program that offers students a holistic look into social issues affecting the Corvallis community. Running weeks 2-10, students participate in hands-on learning while reflecting on who they are as leaders.

Cohort Boys & Girls Club: Thursdays, 2:15-4:45pm; focus on youth engagement with Corvallis Boys & Girls Club

Cohort Grace: Mondays, 1:15-3:30pm; focus on intergenerational connections with the Grace Center for Adult Day Services

Cohort SAGE: Fridays, 12:15-2:00pm; focus on environmental justice with the Starker Arts Garden for Education.

Cohort LBFS: Tuesdays, 2:30–5:15pm; focus on food (in)security with Linn Benton Food Share

Cohort CDDC: Tuesdays, 7:45–10am; focus on poverty and homelessness with the Corvallis Daytime Drop-In Center

Beavs Volunteer is a weekly service opportunity for students to sign up (no long-term commitment required) and get out into the community each week. We will be hosting 2 Beavs Volunteer partners this Fall term.

Sustainability Opportunities and Services

Volunteer with School District Elementary Green Teams– The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition’s Education Action Team is recruiting volunteers to assist with Corvallis School District Elementary Green Teams. Volunteers support the School Sustainability Leaders by assisting with Green Team meetings, gathering supplies, or contacting speakers. Once-a-week and once-a-month volunteering opportunities are available. Apply here if interested!

Students: Borrow textbooks for free! The Basic Needs Center (BNC) has a Textbook Lending Library open to all on-campus students that includes books, calculators, chemistry model sets, and more. Lost and Found

The Student Services Office keeps a drawer for lost items. If you have misplaced an item, stop by our office to see if it was turned in. If you find an item, feel free to drop it off in our office. We will keep items until the end of the term. Unclaimed items will be picked up by Central Lost & Found.
