Blog Post # 2: Feedback

In this blog post, I want to share some thoughts and provide feedback on the entire Capstone project. As I am in the near end of our project in CS 463, I can say it’s been pretty amazing to see our project come to fruition. I found that CS 461 was a nice intro (not too fast-paced or slow), helping groups get acquainted with eachother’s skills, strong points, and time schedules. The bulk of the heavy-lifting work was done in CS 462 for my group, as we quickly realized that dragging things out too long would lead to us scrambling to finish things in CS 463 rather than reviewing and putting together some finishing touches. I’m glad my group chose to go about it this way, since we have a lot less stress in this semester now.

I have learned the most about computer science in this Capstone project, since I am a hands-on learner. From learning about WordPress tools and leveraging the knowledge to help me outside of school to building React components and learn how to write in Javascript, I think the collaborative hands-on environment forced me to step outside my comfort zone and make sure things got done. Especially since it wasn’t just me; I have a team depending on me to follow through! I appreciate the opportunity to work with my peers to create a useful application for Oregon State University students and faculty.
