Week 2 Spring 2025

Happy Spring, y’all! Enjoy the warmer weather, the blooming flora and bustling fauna, and your new classes. Connect with your academic advisor sooner than later in the term, and check out some of the neat experiential opportunities mentioned below, especially because we’re celebrating National Public Health Week!

Spring 2025 Academic Deadlines

Sunday, April 13 @ 11:59 PM: last day to add a course with instructor or department approval (make requests by Thursday, April 10 if possible)

Monday, April 14 @ 8 AM: Summer 2025 registration opens (no PIN)

Sunday, April 20 @ 11:59 PM: last day to withdraw from a class and get a 50% tuition refund (a W appears on your transcript but won’t affect GPA)

Friday, May 16 @ 12:00 PM: last day to change the grading basis of a class (A-F to S/U or vice versa; review the COH S/U policy)

Friday, May 16 @ 11:59 PM: last day to withdraw from a class (no refund)

Friday, June 6 @ 11:59 PM: last day to withdraw from the term

It’s National Public Health Week!
Did you know this week (April 7-12) is National Public Health Week? Come celebrate, learn, and dine with us at some of these excellent events listed below (including Dr. Kimberly Harmon’s Bray Leadership Lecture)!

Dr. Kimberly Harmon’s Leadership Lecture on Sports Medicine
On Tuesday, April 8, in the MU Horizon Room (and via Zoom), COH is honored to host Kimberly Harmon, MD, a national leader in sports medicine and head physician of the University of Washington football team. Dr. Harmon will participate in a student-focused forum at 10 AM and give her Bray Leadership Lecture, “Leadership lessons from medicine and sport: Breaking barriers, building futures,” at 4 PM. Further, she’ll chat with students about conducting clinical research on Wednesday, April 9 at 9:30 AM.

Apply for College to County Mentorship Program Internships
Multnomah County’s College to County Mentorship Program is accepting applications through Tuesday, April 15 for summer internships! The link above provides info on applicant eligibility, internship descriptions, etc. These are excellent opportunities to fortify and diversify your technical and transferable skills (and potentially earn credit towards your degree).

Join the Job Shadow Program
From now through Saturday, May 3, you’re invited to sign up for OSU’s 2025 Job Shadow Program facilitated by the Career Development Center! Job shadowing is an excellent, low-stakes way to gain experience outside of the classroom, clarify occupations of interest, and possibly even earn credit.
