Blog Post #7

Since my last post I have put in a lot of work on the capstone project. My primary focus has been on front end work for editing a pet profile as well as displaying the pet profile. The initial issue I was experiencing was pre-populating data within certain fields of the edit pet profile.

After doing some tinkering and digging deeper into my understanding of React I was able to understand better creating components and how they are rendered. By improving my understanding of of React I can see why it is such a popular framework. The next obstacle I had was working with photos and implementing API calls to have them deleted. The API calls themselves were not difficult the issue laid in my CSS skills.

Working on this though I admit has greatly improved my understanding of CSS. I am still by far no expert but my skills have drastically improved. It even transferred from working on this to my actually work for I was way more efficient at putting together a web page.

Following completing the process of deleting photos I moved to allowing users the ability to pic which photo is the main photo of focus on the pet profile. Again after improving my understanding of rendering components in React this proved to be no too challenging of a task. My focus between now and next week would be to work on the Admin page and creating a filter and API calls to delete users and shelters. Until next week!
