Jalapeño Quesadillas

Ingredients:

  • 3 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
  • Sliced jalapeños (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or oil (for cooking)
  • Optional toppings: salsa, guacamole, sour cream

Instructions:

1. Prep the Ingredients:

  • Slice the jalapeños into thin rounds.

2. Preheat Tortilla:

  • Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of butter or oil to the skillet and let it melt.
  • Place one flour tortilla in the skillet and let it heat for about 1-2 minutes until the bottom side is lightly golden.
  • Flip the tortilla to the unheated side.

4. Add Cheese and Jalapeños:

  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the preheated side of the tortilla.
  • Distribute the sliced jalapeños over the cheese.

5. Fold Tortilla:

  • Fold tortilla in half creating a half circle.

6. Cook the Quesadilla:

  • Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Press down gently with a spatula to help the cheese melt.

9. Slice and Serve:

  • Serve hot with your favorite toppings like salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.
