- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
- Sliced jalapeños (adjust to your spice preference)
- 2 tablespoons butter or oil (for cooking)
- Optional toppings: salsa, guacamole, sour cream
Instructions:
1. Prep the Ingredients:
- Slice the jalapeños into thin rounds.
2. Preheat Tortilla:
- Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
- Add 1 tablespoon of butter or oil to the skillet and let it melt.
- Place one flour tortilla in the skillet and let it heat for about 1-2 minutes until the bottom side is lightly golden.
- Flip the tortilla to the unheated side.
4. Add Cheese and Jalapeños:
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the preheated side of the tortilla.
- Distribute the sliced jalapeños over the cheese.
5. Fold Tortilla:
- Fold tortilla in half creating a half circle.
6. Cook the Quesadilla:
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Press down gently with a spatula to help the cheese melt.
9. Slice and Serve:
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings like salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.
