Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • Campbell’s Canned Tomato Soup
  • Sourdough Bread
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese 
  • Unsalted Butter

Optional Ingredients:

  • Italian Seasoning for the Soup
  • Garlic Powder for the Soup
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions for Soup:

  • Follow the directions on the can
  • Mix 1 can of soup with 1 can of water
    • For creamier soup mix 1 can of soup with 1 can of milk or milk substitute
  • For Stovetop
    • In a medium pot heat over low stirring frequently until heated thoroughly (do not let boil)
  • For Microwave
    • In a covered microwaveable bowl microwave on high for 2 ½  to 3 minutes
    • Let stand for 1 minute then carefully remove and stir

Instructions for Grilled Cheese:

  • Heat a pan on the stovetop on medium high heat
  • Take two slices of bread and butter each side
  • Once the pan is heated, add ½ to 1 tablespoon of butter to the pan
  • Once butter is melted and bubbling, place bread in the pan
  • Using a spatula flip the bread until both sides are golden brown in color
  • Once golden brown sprinkle cheese on one slice of the bread
  • Flip your other slice on top of the cheese and let it sit until the cheese is melted
  • Use your spatula to flip the sandwich so that the other side can get toasted
  • Place your sandwich on a serving plate
