The PharmD Enrichment and Professionalism Program (PEPP) and Entrepreneurial Academy (EA) collaborate to bring in speakers to present about the different career options available after graduation. In February, two alumni returned to campus for these presentations.
Bob Coulter (’73) with PEPP Coordinator, Mireille Rygnestad (’18)
Bob Coulter (’73) returned to the College of Pharmacy on February 11, 2016 to share his experiences in pharmacy ownership. Bob and his wife Sue (’77) first bought Red Cross Drug in LA Grande, OR in 1983. Bob spoke of their experiences in buying and successfully managing three separate pharmacies as an independent owner. Students enjoyed hearing first-hand entrepreneurial stories and advice from our own alumni family.
Tara O’Keeffe (’77), at center, with Paige Clark (’85), Lori Jordan (Director of Development for Pharmacy), Mireille Rygnestad (’18) PEPP Coordinator, Kelly Kovl (’18) EA President, and several students who attended the PEPP
On Thursday, February 25, 2016, Tara O’Keeffe, RPh (’77) spoke to students about Entrepreneurialism in our Profession: Looking for the Creative Answers to Problems. She is the inventor of O’Keeffe’s Working Hands Creme and former owner of O’Keeffe’s Co. Students were able to learn about the process of developing a business model and hear about her first-hand experience in business development and entrepreneurialism in Pharmacy Practice.
