It is never easy saying goodbye to our faculty members here at OSU College of Pharmacy. Both Ruder and Dr. Ito have been a significant part of our curriculum and the journey for our students.
Jeff Ruder accepted a position with Ecampus; a fantastic opportunity for him! He has been instrumental in developing and implementing several of our intiatives, including the Career Development Curriculum, MBA advising, and significant updates to the admissions process.
Dr. Matthew Ito, who has been with the College of Pharmacy for 10 years, will be retiring from a total of 27 years in academia. He has accepted a position with Sanofi (3rd largest pharmaceutical company in the world) in Medical Affairs. He says, “I will be involved in the further clinical development of an investigational biologic targeting a new mechanism involved in cholesterol metabolism. This new class of agents will be a breakthrough in the way we mange familial hypercholesterolemia – which is my passion.” His parting message to students and faculty were, “I’ve greatly enjoyed and appreciated the opportunities I’ve had to educated such bright, young professionals and work alongside a dedicated faculty. I wish the college much success in the future.”
OSU College of Pharmacy wishes the best futures for both of you. We are truly grateful to have had you both as colleagues, mentors, and as integral parts of the OSU College of Pharmacy. Thank you!
