The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) recently announced election results for the 2013-2014 ACPE Executive Committee and Board liaisons, as well as appointments to the Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) Commission and the International Commission (IC). Elections were held during the ACPE Board of Directors Meeting, January 16-20, 2013 in Sarasota, Florida.
OSU College of Pharmacy alum Robert S. Beardsley (Class of 1971), RPh, PhD, was re-elected to the position of President of ACPE. Dr. Beardsley is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Health Services Research at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Previously, he served as chair of the Council of Deans for the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and on AACP’s Board of Directors. He was appointed to the ACPE Board by the AACP.
Other appointments included Stephanie F. Gardner, PharmD, EdD, who was elected as Vice President of ACPE. She is Dean of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy. Dean Gardner also serves as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board Member for the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education. Michael A. Moné, RPh, JD, FAPhA, was re-elected as Secretary/Treasurer of ACPE. He is Vice President Anti-Diversion & Supply Chain Integrity and Senior Regulatory Counsel at Cardinal Health and also serves as a member of the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
