Congratulations to P3 student, Vivian Tang, for being recently awarded the NCPA Foundation Presidential Scholarship. This competitive award selects students on the basis of academic success, leadership qualities, accomplishments and extracurricular involvement. Moreover, the recipient has also demonstrated interest in pharmacy management and independent pharmacy. This award includes a registration to the NCPA Annual Convention, held on October 14th in San Diego, California. Here, Vivian will be recognized at their Awards Ceremony.
In June, Vivian attended the S.H.E. Summit week held by NYC start-up, ClaudiaChan.com (S.H.E. stands for “She Helps Empower”). This event, designed for women with business and start-up interests, included over 35+ pop-up events and workshops all around Manhattan. Workshops included topics such as “finance management” and “the art of negotiation.” Vivian also attended their VIP Women’s Event, which included guest panelists such as Lauren Bush, co-founder of Feed Projects, and Alyse Nelson, CEO and President of Vital Voices Global Partnership, an organization founded by Hillary Clinton to enhance women’s leadership around the world. Vivian shares “this experience helped to solidify my desire to one day run my own business. Meeting people from different fields was important because I believe collaborations at the interface of different industries are the key to growth and innovation.”
