Signa Vernholm ‘76 Featured PEPP Speaker

On February 23, Signa Vernholm, Class of ’76, Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator with Fred Meyer Pharmacy, presented on the topic of “Pharmacy Decision Making: Practical Day to Day Pharmacy” for P1 and P2 pharmacy students as part of the College’s PEPP (PharmD Enrichment and Professionalism Program) series.

Her presentation was based on the APhA Pharmacist Code of Ethics and was designed to stimulate discussion among students about daily events that require professional judgment decisions to be made on the part of the Pharmacist.  With more than 120 students in attendance, Signa drew on the code of ethics as well as her own professional experience to engage in an important discussion about the “gray areas” that pharmacists face in decision making and how to best balance legal and best practice considerations.

Following the student presentation, the College hosted approximately 50 local pharmacists with the Linn-Benton Pharmacists Association for a second presentation by Signa for an hour of Continuing Education credit.

The College extends warm thanks to Signa for her presentation on this important topic.
