Please join VAPORHCS, in partnership with the PGA, for the 2015 Down Range Golf Program on May 22, 2015, starting at 1:00 pm at the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course in North Plains, OR.

Interested Veterans must register by May 18 to participate. Space is limited, so please sign up soon by calling VAPORHCS Program Specialists Marcella or Jerry 360-696-4061 ext. 33357.

This free event is open to all Veterans wanting to start playing golf or get back into the game of golf, however, first priority is for Veterans with chronic medical conditions, spinal cord injury, amputations, polytrauma injuries, disabilities, and/or mental health. Veterans are encouraged to register to participate in this clinic for a fun day of instruction and ultimately, to begin the path to a healthier lifestyle.

The program focuses on delivering accessible and convenient golf instruction and opportunities to Veterans in the Portland region. PGA Professionals will be providing instruction on the Driving Range as well as chipping, putting and playing on the golf course. All equipment will be provided and a limited amount of adaptive golf carts, and adaptive equipment will also be available for use as needed.

The AAPG Foundation’s United States Military Veterans Scholarship Program (MVSP) is designed for students just like you. Scholarships range from $2,000-$4,000 and can be used for tuition and living expenses. Learn more about requirements, guidelines and steps to apply.

Military & Veteran Resources Advisor (MVRA) candidates meet-and-greet lunch with students is April 20, May 6, and May 7 from 11:45am – 12:30pm MU Veterans Lounge. With respect for students’ schedules, the informal lunch is a come-when-you-can, leave-when-you-must event. The MVRA will manage the Office of Veteran Services including providing direct student service and support and developing and implementing processes to enhance and facilitate enrollment for the veteran population. More position information and candidates’ bio information will be available at the sessions.

The schedule for spring Fit Pass classes is now available! Purchase your Fit Pass today which will allow you access to unlimited drop-in Fit Pass classes. Get moving and have fun with the Fitness team in Recreational Sports! (Note: Spring Fit Pass classes begin Monday, March 30).
