Plan for a PIN

Starting Spring term 2017, all students must have an approved Fall 2017 term course plan on file in MyDegrees in order to receive a PIN to register for FALL 2017 classes. First-year students will receive their Winter and Spring term PINs at First-Year Workshops or during individual advising appointments.

You can call 541-737-8900 to schedule an appointment to meet with your advisor, or you can submit this plan electronically.

Please refer to the PHHS MyDegrees planner tutorial for helpful tools on creating your plan.

Highlights

OSS Online Appointment Scheduling:

We are excited to announce a new online appointment scheduling system, TimeTrade, is now available to all students with an active ONID username and password to make appointments for April 3 and later. For March appointment scheduling, please call to make an appointment.

TimeTrade will allow students to:

  1. Schedule an appointment (for April 3 and later) with their assigned academic advisor at http://health.oregonstate.edu/advisors.
  2. Schedule a 15-minute, 25-minute, or 50-minute appointment based on the type of appointment needed.
  3. Schedule an appointment up to 6 weeks in advance.
  4. Schedule, reschedule, or cancel an appointment 24/7 online.
  5. Schedule a same-day appointment if an appointment is made by 8am.

Students will receive:

  1. A confirmation notification email in their ONID inbox, upon the initial appointment creation. Students will also receive a rescheduling and cancellation notification email, upon those events.
  2. An appointment reminder email 24 hours prior the appointment. If a student schedules an appointment less than 24 hours in advance, they will not receive an email reminder.
  3. An Outlook and iCal appointment file upon the initial appointment creation. This syncs the appointment to the student’s calendar if applicable.

Please note that if you schedule an appointment with an advisor other than your assigned advisor, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment.  If you do not know who your assigned advisor is, you can log in to MyDegrees, which lists your assigned advisor, or you can call us at 541-737-8900, and we will be happy to help you.

Networking Event:

Marquis Companies, a skilled nursing, assisted living and home health care company, and its sister company, Consonus Health Services, a pharmacy, rehabilitation, staffing and consulting company, are hosting a networking event April 11, 5:30-8pm. They will be sharing information regarding their organization as well as long-term care career and internship opportunities. Appetizers and beverages will be served. To RSVP, contact Sarah Reser at (971) 206-2036 or email srreser@marquiscompanies.com no later than April 5.

Scholarship Opportunity:

The Oregon State University Alumni Association is proud to sponsor the 2017 Homecoming Court, which seeks to honor students who embody the spirit of a true Oregon Stater. Individuals will be selected by a panel of staff, faculty, and alumni based on their leadership qualities, spirit, integrity, and achievement through their contributions and involvement at Oregon State University. Homecoming Court members will also receive a onetime $1,000 scholarship. Applications are due April 28. For more information, visit Homecoming Court.

Volunteer Opportunity:

Do you have a desire to help Marion County be more prepared for potential threats and disasters? Are you a college student or community member looking for real-world experience in public health, emergency management, or community preparedness?

The Marion County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program is recruiting volunteers to help conduct a community emergency preparedness assessment (CASPER) in the City of Woodburn on April 22, 2017. The purpose of this day-long assessment is to help create a “snapshot view” of public health issues that will assist with response and resource allocation in the future. Volunteers will work in teams of two, traveling to various neighborhoods to collect data through face-to-face interviews. All volunteers will also be required to attend mandatory training before going out in the community. The training will take place on the morning of April 22. Volunteers will be asked to commit for only one day. For more information, email volunteer@co.marion.or.us or visit the volunteer website.
