The Liston Lab applies genomic approaches to the study of plant evolution and conservation. Current research includes:
1) investigating the evolution of whole genome duplication and sex chromosomes in wild strawberry (Fragaria)
2) exploring transposable element diversity to understand the origin of the endangered species Gentner’s fritillary (Fritillaria gentneri)
3) developing a high throughput genotyping assay for the identification of the threatened whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis)
