Alumni Profile: Sean Sullivan ’83

Sean Sullivan graduated from OSU College of Pharmacy in 1983. Following graduation, he attended the University of Texas where he graduated in 1986 with a Masters of Science degree and in 1992 he earned his Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.  At the conclusion of his formal education, Sean joined the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Washington as a research associate.Currently Sean is the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy and the director of the Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research and Policy Program (PORPP).   He is also actively involved in several national and international services including a member of the chair for the Donabedian Lifetime Achievement Award Committee and on the editorial boards for PharmacoEconomics, European Journal of Health Economics, Value in Health, and the Journal of Medical Economics.Sean is married to Catrena Sullivan (Howlette) who is also an Oregon State University College of Pharmacy graduate (Class of 1990). They were married in 1997 and now live in the Seattle area with their two children, Kiera and Aidan. Catrena participates in triathlons, and the entire Sullivan family spends their summers in Bend, Oregon where they enjoy mountain biking and hiking. Sean is looking forward to attending reunion festivities during the upcoming OSU Homecoming and giving his son a glimpse into his years as a student here.
