History is a particularly busy thing. Throughout time there have been events changes, advancements and discoveries, happening at every turn of the calendar. From the 1920’s and on were particularly busy years as the world was in a state of enhanced technological advancements as well as wars and more. This time period brought forth some of the most notable political figures, civil rights leaders, and inventors that our young country has ever seen. While there are many names that roll off the tongue with ease, there are many that are often overlooked. One of these inventors, who’s discovery can be contributed to saving hundreds of thousands of lives (if not more) is Stephanie Kwolek who was the first to create Kevlar (Chemical Heritage Foundation, 2016).
