I scored a 270 on Holmes-Rahe, a problem-focused coping of 98, and an impatience/irritability score of 44. I didn’t really learn a lot about myself in all honesty. I knew I was stressed and have dealt with a lot without totalling it but I can say I do need to get back in the gym, control my drinking some more, and work in stress relief exercises. Steps I can take to help myself with my future career I am already taking, I have been attending veteran group therapy and doing readjustment strategies to bring myself back into civilian life. I have taken a myriad of classes and attended group training in order to get myself back into a mind set that would further me in the culture shift. I think what helps me manage stress now in the work field is just playing my cards closer to my chest at work but allowing myself third spaces and home to be able to have the conversations I want to. I went for an organization I was more familiar with I went with the US Navy’s work with preventing suicide and depression.

They promote a “Culture and Resilience” platform with a military crisis line through Military OneSource where they teach classes and do webinars. Beyond that the culture and resilience program very often appears while serving through your command where they implement relatively bare bone programing with advisors in and out of your command. Despite the resilience program being more about helping finances and other aspects of service members it is more easy to rely on Military OneSource. It is never negative to look to what resources are around you to get ahold of them.
