Experience with Discrimination

If one of the companies I admire was facing a public lawsuit that accuses them of discrimination, I would first choose to be patient and judge the situation morally to see the truth of these claims and decide which side to take. I would also search on what efforts do they make to react to these claims. I will consider continuing to support the company if they address the issue of discrimination and take the steps to make sure that this act doesn’t happen again or continue, also legally hold those responsible for this behavior until they receive the fair penalty. The company’s response will decide whether I will continue supporting the company or not. If the company reacted to the situation just like nothing serious happened and kept neglecting the importance of equality and diversity, I would stop supporting the company due to the lack of significant measures taken in addressing the behavior. On the other hand, if the company voiced the issue, focused on the diversity factor, and set strict clear rules on discrimination or make a discrimination policy that deters anyone would think of using discrimination against others due to their race, color, religion, ethnicity, and gender. If the company has taken measures to prove that it was a mistake and they are working on eliminating discrimination and reinforce diversity around the company, I will be considering applying for a position with them and keep supporting them. Also, I would keep informed and engaged in the company’s diversity measures.
