Progress: Now Loading

The more I use ChatGPT to build our team’s quiz website, the more it surprises me. It’s not perfect by any means but it’s a great resource to have while developing applications. It’s almost as if I have my own personal tutor!

The journey so far has been enjoyable. Our team recently finalized the UI designs (we each made our own UI designs and chose whichever we enjoyed the most) and we’re now working towards developing all the back-end logic. Since we’re using ChatGPT, we’re all also implementing our own back-end logic. The AI greatly expedites single developer coding so we figured it’s easier for everyone to work on their own project and then reconvene to discuss our findings. Before tackling the back-end logic, we did meet to establish a high-level overview of what features and logic we will need to implement. Then, individually, we’ll figure out how to implement it with the help of ChatGPT.

I’m grateful for my group in that everyone is a self-starter and makes our meetings very efficient. Our primary form of communication is through Discord, where we have all of our asynchronous conversations. Then, we meet at least once a week using Discord’s voice chat where we share our progress and/or any blockers we’ve run into. Discord’s screen sharing feature is pretty neat in that sense since we can easily see our team member’s progress without having to download their files.

I think our team is doing a great job so far and I’m excited to see what we end up building at the end of this quarter
