Blog Post#3 Biggest course success


Author of this post at 3:00 AM trying to understand a new game engine, a new programming language, and a new version control system for the first time:

My biggest success in this course was finally grasping how the game engine, game editor, and C# files all come together. Unlocking the ability to create any idea inside the game has been a very rewarding and exciting feeling.

For example, we had the idea of launching a projectile at great speed and knocking the enemy backward. After great toil, we figured out how to do this with the physics game components. Our next ideas was that once the enemy is hit by an object, it should play an animation that makes it look hurt. Our next idea was that there should be some UI element that shows the enemy health lowering.

Having idea after idea and being able to see it come to life in a playable game has been a fantastic experience. I am excited to see how our next ideas come to fruition.
