Let's Build!

It’s hard to believe it, but the finish line is in sight! In January of 2021 I started the Oregon State program which was my first formal introduction to Computer Science. Prior to starting this program I was working as an account manager and was talking to a friend who was a developer. At the time their work sounded fascinating and as someone who loves to build it felt like developing my skillset in Computer Science would be a good fit for me. As a result I started building some small personal projects (e.g. a web calculator app and a personal blog) and eventually decided to formalize my learning through the OSU program.

Personally I find that work is a lot more enjoyable and rewarding when one is interested in the subject matter. As a result , the projects I selected for this capstone were all if fields I want to learn more about. Specifically, the fields of ML, AR and embedded systems. This includes the Smart Recycling Bin, Math GO and the Embedded System Digital Audio Loop Station. As a result of these choices I hope to push myself to learn if any of these sub-fields are areas that I want to continue learning and developing my personal skillset in as I continue my CS journey.

As a person I like to think of my self as a team player who proactively contributes new ideas and solutions to the team. Working in groups is something I enjoy and I find that when working remotely it helps to have strong channels of digital communication as this allows the team to stay actively engaged and encourage all team members to participate.

I’m looking forward to working with everyone!
