My name is Polly Cappalo. I have been influenced by many table charmers through out my life, by the southern cooking of my grandmother, aunt and mother, recipes that have been handed down, found, and given to me by family, friends and strangers, my mother’s black iron skillet, and the farmers fruit and vegetable stands in the high desert of southern Oregon where I live are just a few of my most influential table charmers. I have also been a table charmer, for family, my yellow lab and cats, friends, 350 plus crowds of people and sometimes even complete strangers.
Along with cooking and entertaining, I also enjoy photography and work as a Principal Real Estate Broker. As a real estate broker, I have found that open houses are a great way to begin dabbling as a table charmer. An open house can be as simple as serving home made cookies and sweet tea or even more elaborate, I had a fun time working my table charmer magic at a twilight tour of this home one Friday evening, the menu included bruschetta, various cheeses and wines provided by a local winery.
Whether it’s an open house, family, friends or that summer or fall feeling in the air, I hope that this blog inspires you and has you pondering, who or what exactly is your, “table charmer?’
