Blog 1-Fortune 100 Best Companies

The three companies I chose were Hilton, American Express, and Adobe Systems Incorporated.

First, when scanning Hilton, it can be found that the company’s mission is to make the world a better place through hospitality (Hilton). The company’s data indicates that 92% of guests think the service is excellent, and the global benchmark of the data is 86%. A major factor in Hilton’s good feedback is its reliance on corporate culture, such as the company’s ability to foster an inclusive workplace. In addition, 97 percent of employees report that Hilton is a great place to work, compared to 57 percent on its global scale. From these data, it can be seen that Hilton’s method of practicing HR is to motivate employees by establishing corporate culture, mission and relying on corporate culture. Human resource managers influence employees’ act through organizational culture so that employees can perform better in their jobs, so organizational culture reflects Hilton’s human resource management strategy.

Secondly, in the feedback from American Express employees, it can be found that the company puts people in the most important position. The feedback shows that the company treats its employees very well and that its management is honest and ethical. This can be related to the “People matter” concept in human resource management. This is the way American Express practices HR.

Finally, in the analysis of Adobe, it can be found that this company is more like a digital service company that pays attention to employees, employee capabilities and innovative thinking. Although this is a company about the digital experience, it puts people first rather than products or services.

Through the analysis of the above three companies, it can be found that these three companies pay great attention to employees, namely people matter. Therefore, I hope that I will become a manager who puts employees first. Personally, I think the most challenging aspect comes from the changing context of HRM, especially the increasing demands from consumers on the ethical and social responsibility of companies (Lecture 1). The changing human resources environment makes it imperative for managers to keep updated on resources, data and strategies, otherwise the company is likely to fall into an ethical dilemma.
