Hi everyone!
My name is Taylor and I’m excited to be completing the capstone project with all of you! I live and work in Seattle, Washington with my partner and our two cats! Like many people in this course, my original background isn’t in computer science. Before this program, I completed a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Washington where I volunteered in a neuroscience lab for a little over year. That volunteering experience is what led me to coding for the first time, and inspired me to go back to school once again and get this degree from OSU!
Currently I am employed full time at the same neuroscience lab I originally volunteered at, working with MRI and EEG brain data alongside other researchers. Although I enjoy my current job, I am hopeful that I will be able to transition to a more software focused role in the future! I really enjoy working in data analysis, and am hoping to incorporate that interest into my future career.
Overall, I have really enjoyed my experience learning here at OSU. Completing my first degree in the midst of the Covid lockdown got me used to the online class environment, and the schedule flexibility this program has offered has been perfect for maintaining a professional job while still attending school. With that being said, I am eager to be finished and have more time to focus on advancing my career (and having some more free time!). I look forward to the rest of the quarter!
