Stress Management

Hi everyone, today we will be discussing some survey results and what they mean for stress management. I found out a lot of information about myself and the stress management style that I have. I found that I am the most effective managing stressful situations when the elements of the situation are changeable, and I am the least effective when things cannot be changed in the situation.

I found this interesting because in my own mind, I feel like I always try to tell myself that I am only allowed to be upset about things that I can control. If things are out of my control I typically try to let them go or let them be because I feel like it is a waste of time and energy to sit and dwell on the issues. If something is changeable it is completely acceptable in my opinion to think about what you could have fixed or changed in that situation.

My thoughts on these subjects have been completely opposite from what I scored in my survey tests. I think that the survey could be accurate in a way that this is actually how I think subconsciously and from what I was saying earlier about what I tell myself for situations that are controllable or uncontrollable, this could be a form of compensating for that. I think having different managers with different management styles could prove to be extremely effective, this is because you could have someone like me who is effective in situations that you can change and someone else who is effective in situations you cannot change. This way, you would be getting the best of both worlds.
