Name Server Emergency Maintenance 3/29 @ 10pm

We will be performing emergency maintenance on NS5 (128.193.15.13). This name server will be unreachable for approximately 5 minutes while maintenance is in progress and the system is rebooted.

Any services hard-coded to a single name server will likely experience issues until that name server is restored.

Cyder will continue to be available although any changes will not be pushed live until the maintenance is complete.

Database Migration – 3/26/16 @ 10pm

We will be migrating databases from an the current Mysql cluster onto a new one.  Part of the process is modifying the applications configuration to point to the new cluster.  The following services will experience momentary downtime while these configuration changes are made:

  • Cyder
  • Wireless Self-registration
  • DCA Tools website
  • Outages Blog

There will be no interruptions of DNS/DHCP during this maintenance.

compute infrastructure maintenance 3/19/2016 9am – 6pm

We will be performing maintenance on our physical infrastructure. During the maintenance we will migrate VMs away from the areas we are working on. We do anticipate a large number of migrations at the start of and end of the maintenance. We do not expect an service interruption to occur.

We will be performing scheduled maintenance on the name servers. Only one name server will be taken down at a time to minimize any potential impact. Each host will be unreachable for approximately 5 minutes while maintenance is in progress and the system is rebooted.

Load Balancer Upgrade 12/19 @ 10pm

On Saturday December 19th at 10pm we will be upgrading the Netscalers firmware.  Since they are in HA mode no outages or downtime are expected.  In the unlikely event of problems, changes will be rolled back and the maintenance will be scheduled for a later date.
