We will be performing two unrelated maintenance items during this window.

A) We will be reconfiguring physical links on our lefthand iscsi network (dropping a 8x 1gig lag merging switches in favor of a single 10gig link).

B) Reboot of capacity controller 1 to resolve ssh server bug. All traffic will be handled by controller 2 during the reboot.

Both of these maintenance events should have no impact to customers.

Start: 4/4/2015 21:00

End: 4/4/2015 23:00

If you need help you can contact us during the maintenance at: 7-7SIG (7-7744).

We will be migrating our existing VM hosts to a new vCenter server from 10am-10pm Saturday February 7th.  This will not impact running VMs nor your ability to RDP or SSH into the VM.

During the maintenance both the current and new vCenters will be active in the event you need to manage a VM (console, power on/off, etc).  However, you will need to check both as the VM may have moved.  The URLs for the vCenters during the maintenance are listed below.  At the conclusion of the maintenance the active URL of the new vCenter will be the same as the current vCenter.

Current vcenter: https://vcenter.sig.oregonstate.edu
Temporary new vcenter: https://vcenter2.sig.oregonstate.edu

** Maintenance Announcement – No service interruption anticipated **

We will be applying a firmware update to our iSCSI switches that support our StoreVirtual SAN. This is the storage network that back’s our VMware infrastructure.

We do not anticipate any service interruption. Our switching is redundant, we will only change the switches one at a time, and the changes should not be service interrupting.

Start: 5/24/2013 10:00:00 PM

End: 5/24/2013 11:59:59 PM

If you have questions or concerns about this maintenance, please contact the Shared Infrastructure Group at osu-sig (at) oregonstate.edu or call 737-7SIG.

** Maintenance Announcement – NO service interruption anticipated **

We are upgrading our StoreVirtual individual hard drive firmware.

Production and Dev SANs are redundant and maintenance will have no noticeable effect on these SANs, meaning that the OSU systems used by students, staff, and faculty will not experience a service interruption.

To improve security on access.cws.oregonstate.edu all incoming connections originating from an off campus IP address (see note below for definition of campus IP address) will be dropped beginning at 10pm on Tuesday July 16th.  Outbound connections from access.cws will not be affected.

After this change a VPN connection will be required for connectivity to access.cws from off campus. For more information on VPN please see: http://oregonstate.edu/helpdocs/network/vpn-campus-access

Note: Campus IP addresses are defined below, any IP outside this range will be considered off campus.
