IPP Results & Reactions

Looking at my results of the personality test, some things surprised me. First category was Extraversion. This I scored relatively high on even though at times I feel like I fall somewhere in the middle. The parts I agreed with a lot were friendliness and activity level. These two were by far the highest on the score chart and categories that I feel I do excel in.

Next was agreeableness, this category I scored “average” in. Cooperation was the highest scoring. This is one that I agree a lot with because I can work with people regardless of who they are.

The next was Conscientiousness. My score for this category, like extraversion, was on the high side. The part that stuck out to me the most was self discipline. This by far was my highest scoring category. For some reason I feel like I go back and forth on this one. I am disciplined enough to go to the gym or get some type of exercise every morning but fall victim to a batch of cookies.

Next category is Neuroticism. My score here was about average. I think I agree with a lot of what this had to show. I find it relatively easy to control my anger and I typically don’t get very anxious. It talked about how stressful situations can sometimes be upsetting. This is true however, I have ways of dealing with it that I feel is different than most.

Last category is Openness to Experience. This was my only category I scored low in. The description told me that I like to think in plain and simple terms. A lot of times this is the case especially when it comes to working. Keeping it simple has always been my motto.

What would a potential employer say my strengths and weaknesses are?

I think reading this, my potential employer would look at it and think that I can sometimes be a good mediator in conflicts. One thing that would stand out to an employer would be under the agreeableness category in cooperation. This would show a potential employer that I am willing to hear them out and work well in a team.

In the extraversion category, I think an employer would agree on energy levels. This is a big strength when it comes to really any job. giving a lot of effort and energy into work and doing things is what employers like to see. To go along with this, being excited about what’s to in day to day work is also something that employers desire. Having that would be a huge plus for any HR person looking to hire.

A weakness that I think an employer might see in this is my openness to experience is a little on the lower side. This could indicate that I’m set in my ways and don’t want to really change. To some employers this could be a red flag however it depends on the company and what they do.

Overall, the results of the test would put me as a good candidate for a lot of jobs out there. My strengths I believe will outweigh my weaknesses by a lot.
