Typical vs. Maximal Performance

  1. If you were in the shoes of the business owner and had to choose which person would you hire (Avery or Jaime) and why?

This was an interesting decision to make. I know people very similar to the way both Avery and Jaime were described. Ultimately, I would hire Avery. I would want someone under my employ that, when in his niche, can outperform anyone. Hiring a guy like Avery would take a lot of patience to train due to his motivation towards work being the main factor that hinders his performance. This is something that I believe can be changed with time. A person who shows a lot of potential is somebody that I would want on my team.

Describe a type of job where it would be better to hire someone like Avery

I think the job that would cater more towards Avery is a job that has higher stakes. A job that has one large goal that you work towards, has new people, and new job opportunities. I think real estate would be a great avenue for him to reach his potential and push him to be consistent as his revenue would typically not be salary and would be commission.

Describe a type of job where it would be better to hire someone like Jaime

Jaime would do well in a salary based position. He will do best in a place that is the same day to day and can find success in doing a job well done each day. I think a job in banking, accounting, or a government job would be a great fit.
